Dr. Akande’s current role as Executive Adviser on Agribusiness, International Cooperation and Development to the Governor of Oyo State is one that has delivered significant returns, not just in economic terms, but in strategic global alliances. His leadership has brought Oyo State into fruitful collaborations with global institutions such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, CGIAR, USAID, FAO, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
But beyond his portfolio, what makes Dr. Akande exceptional is the depth of his experience and vision. With a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Hertfordshire and further studies in International Development, Agribusiness Management, and Environmental Law, Dr. Akande combines theory with practice. His unique blend of academic insight and grassroots engagement has transformed Oyo’s outlook on agricultural innovation, youth empowerment, climate adaptation, and sustainable development.

It is a direct result of the foresight of His Excellency, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSc, GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
