In a significant gesture of support for the informal transport sector, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Dr. Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as Dr. OTOPE, on Friday, June 27, 2025, fulfilled his earlier promise by distributing 10 litres of fuel each to 300 commercial motorcycles (Okada) and tricycle (Maruwa) riders in Egbeda Local Government Area.
The intervention, carried out through his non-governmental organization, the OTOPE Foundation, is part of ongoing efforts to cushion the impact of soaring fuel prices on working-class residents and promote people-centered governance.
Speaking at the distribution event, Dr. OTOPE reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
“The wellbeing of my people remains my top priority. This is the spirit of the PDP compassionate leadership and putting the people first. We will not relent in providing meaningful support to communities across Oyo State,” he said.
The beneficiaries, visibly grateful, commended the timely initiative, describing it as a much-needed relief amid current economic challenges. Many offered prayers and expressed their hopes for more people-focused interventions from leaders across the state.
The event further underscores Dr. OTOPE’s grassroots connection and his sustained drive to empower informal sector workers through impactful outreach programs.
