Collapsed Building: Ibadan NorthWest Chairman, Adepoju Reiterates His Dedication To Community Engagement

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has reiterated  his dedication  to  community engagement and responsiveness to residents’ needs.

He made  the statements during  his visit to the collapsed building site in Dugbe area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According  to the Council  Boss the visit was  to demonstrate his commitment to the welfare and safety of residents of  Ibadan Northwest Local Government and environs. The Council Boss further expressed his sympathy to the affected traders  and occupants of the building adding  that  he showed empathy and concern for their well-being.

Alh Adepoju maintained  that the visit will ensure the Local Government  in collaboration  with the state  government to   assess the situation of the   incident, identify potential causes and areas for improvement to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, the Chairman has implored
contractors handling  building  projects to be conscious of their work  by using durable and original  materials for effective  productivity. He added that the incident may prompt the Council to review and enhance building safety regulations and enforcement.

However, the Executive  Chairman affirmed  that the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde is never out to witch-hunt  anyone, rather  to ensure a secure and  conducive   environment for  all residents  of the state.

On the Chairman’s entourage  to the scene  of the incident were the leader  of the house, Hon Gbemileke Nelson, Chief of staff, Hon Kazeem Fantola,  Councillors and  Supervisory Councillors.

Others were Heads of  Departments  led by the Head of the Local government  Administration  Mrs Rachael Olabode.
