Born on November 18, 1972, in Odo Ona, Ibadan, into the humble family of Mr. Emmanuel Olawuyi Fagbenro and Mrs. Taiwo Clara Fagbenro, Abayomi’s early life was rooted in strong values. Raised in the Baptist tradition, he was instilled with discipline, faith, and a heart for service. His educational journey through IMG Primary School and Government College Ibadan (where he also served as a cadet student) prepared him for a lifetime of dedication and leadership.
Unlike many who abandon their roots once opportunity beckons, Abayomi’s story is one of resilience and service. After acquiring practical skills as an auto mechanic in Ibadan, he ventured to the United States, where he expanded his academic horizon at prestigious institutions like Strayer University, Phoenix University, and ECPI College of Technology. His thirst for service saw him enlist in the U.S. Navy in 1996, where he distinguished himself through hard work, intellect, and sheer determination, earning accolades and rising quickly through the ranks. His commitment to leadership was further sharpened through rigorous training at Naval Air Stations in Florida and Norfolk, and even during an overseas posting in Greece where he sustained a significant injury, his spirit remained unbroken.
Beyond military service, Abayomi’s professional journey led him into the world of technology and governance, working with the Department of Defense and the Department of Treasury. Today, as an accomplished IT specialist, he brings a wealth of experience and a global perspective that many of our leaders sorely lack.
Yet, what truly sets Abayomi apart is his heart for humanity. Over a decade ago, he founded Hope Also Needs Help Foundation (HANHF), an NGO dedicated to uplifting the less privileged. Whether through monthly giveaways, annual children’s events, Christmas outreaches, or free medical programs, his philanthropy has touched countless lives often quietly, without fanfare.
Abayomi’s passion for service naturally extended into politics. His 2019 bid for the House of Representatives under the Young Democratic Party showed his courage and willingness to offer himself for public service. In 2023, he once again presented himself under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), but in a rare display of political maturity and loyalty, he respectfully stepped down in favor of the incumbent after thorough consultations. Such humility is rare in today’s cutthroat political environment.
He is a staunch admirer and supporter of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose governance style of inclusion, transparency, and people-centered policies aligns perfectly with Abayomi’s vision for a better society. As a member of the Young Visioneer Association of Nigeria, he continues to inspire young leaders and advocate for a brighter future.
