The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde , has been honored with the Daily Independent 2024 Man of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to governance, democracy, and infrastructural development.
The award was conferred on Governor Makinde during a special award night program, which aimed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant impacts in their respective fields.
While receiving the award on behalf of the state governor, the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi expressed gratitude to Independent Newspapers for acknowledging Governor Makinde’s efforts in transforming the state.
He however pledged that the award would serve as motivation for the Governor to continue working towards taking the state to greater heights.
Earlier in his opening remarks, Managing Director of Daily Independent Newspaper, Mr. Steve Omanufeme, emphasized that the awards ceremony was designed to honor individuals who have made significant impacts in their respective fields.
