First Lady Condoles Oyo Govt, Citizens Over Stampede Tragedy

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, has expressed deep condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State following the tragic loss of young lives in a stampede that occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Senator Tinubu described the incident as devastating, extending her sympathies to the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased.

“I condole with the Governor of Oyo State HE Engr Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State on the tragedy that occurred on Wednesday, 18th of December 2024 where the lives of many children were lost in a stampede”, she said.

“I sympathize with the family friends, and loved ones of the deceased”, she added.

“I also pray for speedy recovery and total healing for those who are still in the hospital.”

“May the Lord grant peace to Oyo state, comfort to the families who have lost their loved ones and hope to those grieving at this time.”

“My heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this devastating incident.”
