The grand finale of the 2024 Hair & Body Exhibition, organized by the Nigerian Beauticians and Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State Chapter, was a spectacular affair that brought together key political, royal, and business leaders from across Oyo State. The event, which spanned three days from December 3 to December 5, culminated in a dazzling showcase of beauty and culture on December 5, with top dignitaries storming the venue to mark the success of the exhibition.
The exhibition, which included Cultural Day (Asa) on December 3 and Asewa Oge (Beauty Day) on December 4, celebrated the growth of the beauty industry in Oyo State, while raising funds for the construction of the Asewa House on the exhibition/grand finale day, December 5.
The event was hosted by Omoluabi Pataki, Chief Benedict Akika, MOFI, Grand Life Patron of NBHA Oyo State Chapter, and Aare Agba’Akin Ataiyse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye, Founder of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation. Chief Akika’s leadership and his contributions to the association were a central focus of the celebrations.
The Chairman of the Day, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of all Chairmen in Oyo State, presided over the grand finale, delivering a stirring speech about the importance of unity and collaboration in the growth of the beauty sector.
Special Guests of Honour included Hon. Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government Hon. Akinwole Akinyele, Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Chairman of Tan Oil among others.
Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo Nurudeen, Aare’binrin Oodua Agbaye and MD/CEO of Ur’Image Couture Head to Toe also graced the occasion, commending the efforts of the NBHA and urging attendees to continue supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership for a brighter future in Oyo State.
The Royal Fathers of the Day, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akinloye Olalere Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, and His Royal Majesty Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Ilugbemidepo Oyedepo III, the Okere of Shaki, were also in attendance, lending their royal presence to the event.
The grand finale showcased the creativity, talent, and cultural diversity of the beauty industry in Oyo State. With performances, beauty showcases, and a vibrant exhibition of fashion and wellness products, the event was a major highlight for members of the NBHA, who are active across all 33 local government areas of the state.
This year’s exhibition also featured fundraising activities aimed at supporting the Asewa House project, which will serve as a permanent home for the association and provide space for beauty professionals to enhance their skills and grow their businesses.
The event under the vision of the founder, Chief (Mrs) Olubunmi Adesanya and current president, Chief (Mrs) Toyin Oladapo underscored the critical role that leaders, both political and royal, play in fostering the growth of local industries and creating an enabling environment for creative talents to thrive. With the support of notable figures like Chief Akika and Chief Ige, the 2024 Hair & Body Exhibition has set a new standard for beauty and cultural events in Oyo State.
The event was spiced by Ibikunle Twins as master of ceremony and Sunny Oyo as the musician of the day.
The success of this year’s exhibition is a reality to the continued progress and unity within the Nigerian Beauticians and Hairdressers Association, with Oyo State positioning itself as a leading hub for beauty and cultural excellence in Nigeria.
