The Ibadan Northwest chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday hosted a grand victory and Ileya party to celebrate the party’s resounding success in the recent local government elections in Oyo State.
The event, which took place at the council secretariat in Onireke Ibadan, was attended by hundreds of party members, supporters, and dignitaries from across the state.
In his welcome address, the party’s chairman in Ibadan Northwest, Alhaji Lukman Adesina, expressed his delight at the party’s sweeping victory in the elections, saying it was a testament to the party’s popularity and acceptance by the people.
Adesina praised the party’s candidates, who emerged victorious in all 33 local government areas in the state, including Ibadan Northwest, in which Alhaji Rahman Adepoju and Alhaji Ganiy Omotosho returned as Chairman and Vice-Chairman, saying they worked tirelessly to ensure the party’s success.
The chairman also commended the party’s leadership in the state and the present administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, for his guidance and support, which he said contributed significantly to the party’s success.
Hon (Dr) Dawood Akanni Olalere D-Al-Ameen, Oyo State Assembly member, expressing excitement at the event, praised the party’s members and supporters in Ibadan Northwest for their hard work and dedication, saying it was a shining example of the party’s strength and unity.
He also commended the state and party’s leadership in the state for their guidance and support, saying it contributed significantly to the party’s success in the elections.
Dignitaries present were Alhaji Soliu Ishola Labule, Special Assistant to the Governor on Federal Constituency, Former Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Community Relations Hon Olufemi Josiah among others.
The event was also marked by music, dance, and competition, as well as the presentation of gifts.
