Forum of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) Business Membership Organisations (BMOs)of Nigeria is a private sector driven platform established for coordinated and structured engagement between the MSME operators, government and other stakeholders. It is also a mechanism for providing feedback on implementation of policies, programmes and interventions targeted at the growth, development and competitiveness within the space. In view of this, MSMEs Forum Oyo State Chapter, organized 2days fish farming training for members, Thursday 27th and Friday 28th of June, 2024.
While speaking with the news men today in Ibadan after the first training day, “Amb. Opeyemi Ayanrinde popularly known as MC SWAGGER, who is the Forum Coordinator MSMEs Oyo State Chapter says, “This is Forum of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) of Nigeria. We are committed to train, build and empower the small and medium businesses in our environment, we are ready to create more job opportunities for youths, men and women. It’s time to change the face and orientation of small and medium businesses across Oyo State, we need to encourage our members to prepare and plan for the future to get something doing to sustain themselves and put food to their table. Also, as one of the Official Ambassador and Face of Advertisement and Publicity for EJA WA, a brand and company dealing with fish farming and agriculture, we have reached and signed an agreement to train our members how to establish themselves and starts investing in fish farming business as it’s highly recognized and demanded in society today, the consumption is increasing everyday.
The secretariat of the Forum was provided by Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) located at the Mineral Testing Centre in African University of Science and Technology Galadimawa, Airport Road Abuja. We have signed MOUs to work with Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Agric and Food Security, Finance, and Budget and Economic planning, as well as with National Space Research and Development Agency, Fidelity Bank and with accredited BOI Business Development Service Providers to facilitate loan for members.
Our MOU with space centre is to establish a credible data bank of MSMEs across the 33 local governments in Oyo State.
The facilitator, Moyinoluwa Oladejo of Lukom Integrated Services (Eja Wa: Our Fish) expressed her delight in the training and participants for the fish farming.
“I am happy to be a facilitator at the fish farming organised by our company and the participation is amazing, which shows that people are ready for food security in the nation.
“In the training, I was able to take them through the indepth of fish farming, techniques, processes, packaging and marketing.
“Lukom Integrated Services is available to buy their table size or full grown fishes whenever they are ready.
“With this, we also are playing a part in economic development and poverty eradication.”
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Atiba Ishola appreciates the organiser of the training and charging beneficiaries to invest in the knowledge acquired to have more as investments.
In his conclusion, “Amb. Opeyemi Ayanrinde said the fish farming training will be holding every month @EJA WA/AMOTEKUN OFFICE. Fisheries Department Conference Hall, Fisheries Headquarters, Mokola Dandaru, Ibadan. So, as to help, support and empower the MSMEs members, we are ready to train, build and support our members with bank loan empowerment, financial strength, chances to join and benefits from cooperative society to establish themselves.
