The Senior Special Assistant to The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on Community Relation, Hon. Tallest Innocent, ACPA has commended the leaders of Igbos/non Indigenes in Oyo State for their concerted efforts in harnessing their collective experience, knowledge and relationships to advance developmental ideals, peace building and robust democratic governance going on since last five years in Oyo State. The SSA made this commendation during his condolence visit with some Igbo/ Non Indigenes leaders to their sister, the wife of late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, Chief Mrs, Lolo, Nne Ndi Igbo Oyo State, Global Ambassador Joyce Anene Balogun.
Tallest in his condolence message to their inlaws, the family of the deceased, described the late monarch as father of all, a man with exemplary virtues who made immeasurable contributions to the advancement of the cause of humanity, and enjoined him and the entire Balogun family to take solace in the accomplishments of his age. “I would like to condole with you and the entire Balogun family on the death of your beloved father, an icon and the patriarch of your family who sadly passed away on 7th of April, 2024 at the age of 81.
The SSA particularly thanked the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc, GSSRS for raising the bar in the peace and security of the State and for deepening the cause of development of the State and all who live in it. He said, “You have taken every challenge of Oyo State as your challenge, and you have raised the bar in advancing the People’s Charter of Needs of Oyo State. The Senior Special Assistant used the opportunity to clear the air on misrepresentations on media platforms over the government that handled the much commended key projects in Oyo State since the inception of this regime, over 220km road and still counting within the space of four years plus, two world class bus terminals, adamasingba stadium to FIFA standard, Ibadan Airport from local to world standard, Fashola farm settlement which is now opened for users, investors to access.
The road and other key projects done in Oyo State within the last four years plus of Engr Seyi Makinde led government, was not done by federal Government. No, it was done by the State Government as directed by Governor Seyi Makinde. Everything about the funding was entirely done by Governor/Oyo State government through the hard working commissioners.
Tallest used the opportunity to thank the leaders of the Igbo Community and the Non Indigenes for their support to the Renewed Hope administration of Our Amiable Governor. He said, “I want to send a message of thanks from HE to the Igbos, for their support; I want to thank the Governor and appreciate him for his support to the Indigenes and Non Indigenes which is beyond party lines.
Tallest revealed, “In a very short moment, leaders of Igbo Community and Our Royal Mother, Eze Nwanyi, Global Ambassador Joyce Anene Balogun will come together to openly, publicly, and whole heartily appreciate Our Governor, and let Oyo State, Nigerians and the world know that we stand with the Renewed Hope agenda of our Governor.
In his address during the condolence visit, the Senior Special Assistant, thanked The Governor for his fatherly disposition to all the inhabitants of Oyo State and his inclusive governance, which has renewed the hope of Igbos in actualizing positive trajectories in the political and socio- economic history of Oyo State. He offered his deep condolences to the deceased family and his compassions to the cause of the family and community who would deeply miss his love and charity.
While praying for God to forgive all his shortcomings and give his soul eternal rest, he expressed commitment towards immortalizing the good name he bequeathed. He said, “We will suggest to the government to do a very significant thing in remembrance of the late Oba. We will suggest for the State Government to build a befitting pavilion in his memory in any good location the government may like, and that pavilion will be named after the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun.
