The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde has been described as a selfless leader and politician who judiciously utilised the resources within his purview for the benefits of his people.
The commendation was made by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government , Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju in his congratulatory message to felicitate his Excellency on the leadership Award confered on him as best Governor of the year by Leadership Newspapers. .
According to the Council Boss, the Governor’s doggedness, boundless energy, visionary leadership and commitment to the growth of the state and the country made him stand out among his counterparts.
The Chairman eulogised His Excellency for his prudence and determination in ensuring that dividends of democracy are felt in all the nooks and crannies of the state. He said ‘inspite of economic recession in the country, the Executive Governor was able to embark on notable projects like road Rehabilitations, regular payments of workers and Pensioners salaries, solar Electrification across the state among others, hence, the need for the leadership award’
He maintained that the Award is an evident to show the way and manner the Executive Governor has ruled which has ensured peace and harmony in the state.
Alh Adepoju reiterated that the award confered on His Excellency was not only for him but the entire people of Oyo state. Stressing that the Governor is a unique achiever who has spread his tentacles across all sectors to bring succour to the citizenry of Oyo state.
He said ‘leadership is not about noisemaking but the ability to showcase your worth to all and sundry for effective assessment”
The Chairman ,on behalf of all his working cabinet, Management, staff and entire residents of Ibadan Northwest Local Government congratulated His Excellency on tthe Award and prayed to Almighty God to give him a resounding health to pilot the affairs of the state to a greater height.
