Arise and Build Oyo State – Christian Council Appeal for Support to Victims of Ibadan Explosion

The Rev Olumuyiwa Obasan, the Coordinator, Oyo State Chapter, Ibadan Southwest Local Government, Christian Council of Nigeria has joined in appealing to well meaning Nigerians, Philanthropist and Non-governmental organizations to arise and build Oyo State at this challenging and trial time.

The challenging and trial time of explosion in Ibadan on Tuesday night which got few dead, several injured and homeless with many properties displaced.

In a message on behalf of Christian Council of Nigeria Ibadan SouthWest Local Government of Oyo State, the Coordinator, The Rev Olumuyiwa Obasan stated that,

“All we need is to appeal to God our father and well meaning Nigerians not to subject the matter only to the Governor Seyi Makinde at this trial time. Philanthropist and Non-governmental organizations should rise to the aid of the Government at this trying period.

“Creation cannot deny her creator and our hope while we commiserate with Oyo State Government and families affected in the recent explosion in Bodija area in Ibadan Oyo State, Nigeria

We must note that Security of our nation is solely in our hand as citizens of this country, if you see something say something and care for one another at this trial time.”

He pleaded with well meaning Nigeria to emulate the gesture of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by supporting Governor Seyi Makinde with their resources to make sure that victims are given access to good health care and whatever they can do to salvage the property loss during the incident.

“It’s our prayers that the Lord God comfort the family of the departed souls and strengthen the society against lawlessness and high-handedness among the elite subjugating people to slavery all because of incentive way to fix issues by means of inducement.

“It’s important to appreciate the effort of the security forces and to plead that they should intensify effort in upholding the law and shun corruption at all levels irrespective of status but upholding dignity and maintaining stability for a better society.

“This is not a time to play politics but to come together as one irrespective of our differences.” he added.
