The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ibadan NorthWest Local Government Chapter, has felicitated with young people in the state on the occasion of the 2024 International Youth Day, celebrated under the theme “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”.
In a statement, the NYCN Local Government Acting Coordinator, Comrade Olusegun C. A. Taiwo OCAT commended the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sport for their commitment to youth development and empowerment, particularly in the area of digital literacy and innovation.
“We appreciate the Oyo State Government’s efforts in providing opportunities for young people to acquire digital skills and leverage technology for sustainable development, while commending Governor Seyi Makinde for operating youth inclusive government through the Ministry of Youth and Sport” Comrade OCAT said.
The Coordinator also praised the NYCN Oyo State led by Comrade AbdulQuadri AbdulSalam FEIP for collaboration aimed at promoting youth welfare and development, including digital skills training and entrepreneurship empowerment.
“The main body chaired by Comrade AbdulQuadri AbdulSalam FEIP has been doing a great job in advocating for youth rights and providing platforms for young people to express themselves,” Comrade Olusegun added.
Comrade Taiwo urged young people to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government to develop their digital skills and talents.
“The theme ‘From Clicks to Progress’ reminds us that our online activities can translate to real-life progress and sustainable development,” Comrade Taiwo said. “We must continue to work together to create a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.”
