The lawmaker representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep, Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, on Tuesday, commended Oyo State Governor for the successful recruitment of teachers for Primary and Secondary Schools in the state.
Agboworin, a two-term lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, gave the commendation in a press statement issued by his Media Group, following the release of successful applicants for Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
While saying that the Governor has lived up to his words on the recruitment exercise, Agboworin praised the governor for taking steps to ensure that teachers from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to be employed in the education sector.
The lawmaker noted that the development is part of his commitment to fulfilling the promise of quality education to indigenes of the state.
The statement read, “I really want to use this opportunity to commend my Principal, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his efforts in recruiting teachers to address the current shortage in public primary schools in our dear state.
“First, I see this development as a bold move, which is also tailored around the fulfillment of his electoral promise to the people of Oyo State, considering the fact that education is one of the pillars of his administration.
“Apart from the fact that this recruitment would bridge the gap in the education sector, it would also provide quality education to students in public primary schools.
“Lastly, the governor has, through this recruitment, set a powerful example of social progress and equality for others from different sectors to emulate.
“I am happy the Governor Makinde’s administration is moving forward and his noble initiatives are having lasting and positive impact in our dear state.”
