A prominent sociopolitical support group in Nigeria, Seyi Makinde Disciples (SMD), has extended heartfelt congratulations to all leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Nigeria following the successful 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held today.
In a statement released on Thursday and jointly signed by the group’s Convener, Laja Adeoye, and Spokesman, Olusegun C.A. Taiwo (OCAT), SMD commended the PDP for its unity, maturity, and commitment to internal democracy, which were evident in the outcomes of the high-level deliberations.
The group lauded the efforts of party stakeholders for demonstrating vision and leadership at a time when Nigerians are yearning for a credible alternative. They also described the meeting as a “reaffirmation of the PDP’s strength and readiness to rescue Nigeria from the current economic and security challenges.”
SMD further expressed excitement about the party’s resolve to hold its National Convention in November 2025 in Oyo State, noting that the development reflects the growing confidence in the leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde and the political significance of Oyo State in the national space.
The group assured the party of the full support and mobilization of its members and volunteers ahead of the convention. “We are prepared to work with all stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free and historic National Convention in Ibadan,” the statement concluded.
