The Oyo state government on Wednesday began a two-day digital revolution training and empowerment program for over 3000 youth across the state.
The event, which commenced yesterday October 3, 2024, at the University of Ibadan Conference Center, the state capital, attracted participants from various backgrounds, all eager to enhance their digital skills and knowledge.
The Digital Revolution Training for Oyo state youth was organized by the Oyo state government through the State Youth Agency partnered with Precision Automation Company. The youth within the 2-day training are expected to learn
series of virtual courses, covering areas such as web development, online publishing, data analysis, and social media management among others
According to the chairman of Oyo Youth Agency, Prince Adebowale Falana, the organized Digital Revolution program is part of the strategic effort of the Oyo state government to create employment opportunities and enhance digital literacy for youths in the state.
” This training program is a critical step towards reducing unemployment and promoting innovation among our youths within Oyo state. It includes mentorship opportunities and support for those looking to start their digital businesses after the training program.
” All participants in the program today (Thursday) will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and gain practical experience, which will enhance their employability and provide them with a competitive edge in the business world”.
In his keynote address, the CEO of Precision Automation, Mr.Emmanuel Odah, elaborated on the importance of acquiring digital skills as a means of livelihood and achieving set goals, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and prosperous life. He urged the youth to adopt the mindset of “tool sellers,” becoming solution providers and leveraging their skills to access wealth.
Odah thereafter led the first training session on web development, equipping participants with practical digital skills
Reacting to the event, the state youth leader and acting Publicity Secretary of the Oyo People’s Democratic Party,
Hon. Michael Ogunsina expressed his satisfaction with the impressive turnout.
He noted that the participation demonstrated the youth’s readiness to embrace the digital revolution. He encouraged the participants to strive for continuous learning and adaptation, as the digital landscape is ever-evolving.
The Oyo state-organized Digital Revolution program continues today (Thursday, October 3rd, 2024), at the same venue in the morning. The participants are expected to learn Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence.
