Celebrating his birthday in a grand style, renowned academician and philanthropist who is also the first Fakhar Soliheen in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK) on Tuesday distributed notebooks to pupils at his alma maters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The distribution held at Abiola Jacob Primary School Oke Foko and Urban Day Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State, in commemoration of his birthday admonished the pupils to learn to give back to the society.
Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, known for his humanitarian acumen has been a pillar of support and hope to the society, most especially helping the less privileged, vulnerable children, widows, people with disabilities, individuals and various organizations.
The first Fakhar Soliheen in Oyo State, represented by his unalloyed supporters led by Alhaji Asimiyu Ademola Adeeyo to distribute the notebooks to pupils at his alma maters.
In a statement made available to journalists, representative of the celebrant, Alhaji Ademola Adeeyo, who led the team at the presentation expressed the celebrant’s commitment in helping those who are disadvantaged, dedicating time and resources to the noble cause.
Giving back to his alma maters were among the major activities lined up for Adewale Kolapo Kareem’s birthday as he encouraged the people to always give back to the society.
Addressing the pupils, the representative appreciated God for the blessings that enabled the celebrant to witness another year in good health.
According to Adeeyo, the notebook is to support the pupils and in appreciation to Almighty Allah for his mercies and kindness over the life of the celebrant.
“We are here today to celebrate the birthday of our principal, a philanthropist of note with an enviable resume, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, and to share this precious moment with you. Some years back, the celebrant was also in this school just like you are now.
“Instead of throwing a fanfare, he decides to celebrate with the pupils of his former school, and this should serve as a motivation for you. That time is coming when you will attain greater positions, some of you will become lawyers, doctors, chartered accountants, governors, senators and so on.
“Out of the resources God gives to you, always make it a point of duty and a necessity to give back to the society.
According to Adeeyo, when there’s life, there’s hope, adding that the celebrant is also grateful to Allah, for divine protection, undying love, blessings, and unmerited favours in his career, busy and family,” he added.
Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, at Abiola Jacob Primary School Oke Foko, Ibadan, the celebrant was the time Keeper from Primary three to five and health prefect when he got to Primary six. While he was the male class captain at Urban Day Grammar School, Ibadan from Junior Secondary School one to Senior Secondary School three. He was also the chief Imam of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria from his JSS3 to SS3 where he doubles as the school health prefect.
Other members of the Aseyori Support Group at the presentation include Comrade Demola Oke, Obafemi Ladipo, Mrs Olatayo Adeyinka and Olusegun C. A Taiwo .
