The Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde and his leadership of the party in the state.
In a statement issued and signed by Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the Oyo PDP Secretary following a meeting of the party’s working committee, the PDP expressed gratitude for Governor Makinde’s timely support and encouragement.
“The Leadership of the Party wholly reaffirms their support and loyalty to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his leadership of the PDP”
The party’s leadership also announced plans for simultaneous senatorial meetings on November 6, 2024. The meetings, which will take place in Oyo North, Oyo South, and Oyo Central, are aimed at strengthening the party’s base and galvanizing support for the upcoming elections.
“There will be uniformed and simultaneous Senatorial Meetings on the 6th of November 2024 and the Senatorial Chairmen at the respective district should take very seriously the planning. We humbly seek the cooperation of every stakeholders to make the meeting a success. The date of the meeting is November 6th 2024.
Oyo North – Saki West Local Government
Oyo South – Ido Local Government
Oyo Central – Oyo East Local Government” the statement reads partly.
In addition to reaffirming its support for Governor Makinde, the PDP expressed solidarity with Oyo State indigenes who have been negatively affected by the policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level.
