Hon. Dr. Dawood Olalere proudly known as D-Al-Ameen, the member representing Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has advocated for the installation of GPS tracking devices on all security patrol vehicles in the state.
In a motion presented today, Olalere emphasized the importance of security in ensuring the safety of lives, properties, and investments.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its efforts in improving the state’s security infrastructure through the provision of logistics and patrol vehicles.
However, Olalere noted that more patrol vehicles are needed at night when most crimes occur.
To enhance operational efficiency, accountability, and response time, he proposed the installation of GPS tracking devices on these vehicles.
According to Olalere, GPS tracking would allow the central command center to monitor the locations and movements of patrol vehicles across the state, especially at night. This would enable quicker intervention and the swift foiling of criminal attacks.
By implementing this measure, Olalere believes that security officers would be encouraged to be more responsible and responsive to emergencies.
This, in turn, would lead to improved productivity and a safer Oyo State.o
