Honourable Kehinde Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in the local government area on the occasion of Mawlid an-Nabi, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), calling on them to pray for the local government, Oyo State, Nigeria and the leadership at all levels.
In a statement released today, Honourable Kehinde Adeyemi Akande urged Muslims to use the sacred occasion to intensify prayers for the nation’s peace, progress, and prosperity. “Mawlid an-Nabi is a significant celebration in the Islamic calendar, and I join Muslims in IBSWLG and across Nigeria to mark this special day,” Akande said. “As we honour the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) legacy, let us seek Allah’s guidance, forgiveness, and blessings for our communities and country.”
Akande emphasized the importance of unity, love, and compassion, values embodied by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He encouraged Muslims to emulate these virtues in their daily lives. The Chairman also reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence and inclusive development in his local government.
“I assure Muslims in our local government of our continued support and partnership in fostering a harmonious and prosperous society,” Akande stated.
Mawlid an-Nabi, celebrated on the 12th day of the third month of the Islamic Calendar, is a joyous occasion for Muslims worldwide.
