Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, popularly known as Funfunloogun, a distinguished member of the Federal House of Representatives for Saki-West, Saki-East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the development of his constituency with a series of empowering initiatives. At a well-attended event held at his country home in Challenge, Saki, the legislator distributed 40 motorcycles in the Old Ifedapo area and other constituents alongside awarding scholarships to 20 indigent students pursuing higher education.
The distribution of motorcycles, aimed at enhancing mobility for the All Ward Chairmen, is seen as a strategic move to improve grassroots leadership and governance. The motorcycles will aid the chairmen in effectively reaching their communities, promoting local development projects, and ensuring timely service delivery within their respective wards.
Hon. Abisodun, who has earned a reputation for his focus on local empowerment, stressed the importance of equipping local leaders with the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively. “The role of ward chairmen is vital in fostering community development and engagement with the people. By providing them with motorcycles, we are not just facilitating their work but ensuring that governance reaches every corner of our constituencies,” Abisodun said.
In a bid to further his commitment to education, the second edition of the Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun Scholarship Scheme was launched, aimed at alleviating the financial burdens of higher education for deserving students. This year, 20 indigent students from the Old Ifedapo area were awarded scholarships, which will cover their tuition fees and other educational expenses.
The scholarship program, which has become a hallmark of Abisodun’s tenure, is designed to support students who demonstrate academic excellence but lack the financial means to pursue higher education. “Education remains the cornerstone of societal progress. It is my firm belief that by investing in the education of our youth, we are investing in the future of our communities,” Abisodun stated.
Hon. Abisodun has consistently championed programs aimed at uplifting the socioeconomic status of his constituents. The motorcycle distribution and scholarship initiative are part of his broader vision to foster a more self-reliant, educated, and prosperous community.
At the event, local leaders, constituents, and beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the legislator’s efforts. “We are proud to have a representative who truly understands our needs and works tirelessly to make a difference. These motorcycles and scholarships will go a long way in improving our lives,” said Alhaji Ibrahim Akintoye, a local community leader.
As Hon. Abisodun continues to make strides in both legislative and community development, there are plans for more initiatives aimed at tackling youth unemployment, improving healthcare, and expanding educational opportunities in his constituency.
In a landmark move aimed at enhancing healthcare access, Hon. Abisodun has initiated the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Saki. This facility promises to bring state-of-the-art medical services closer to the people, reducing the need for long journeys for specialized care. The project reflects his deep understanding of the health challenges faced by rural populations and his resolve to ensure quality healthcare is within reach for all.
