As Muslims across the globe prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, a significant Islamic festival commemorating faith and sacrifice, the “Seyi Makinde Disciples,” a social political support group in Nigeria, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful while commending Governor Seyi Makinde for fostering unity in diversity across the state.
According to a statement issued by Olusegun C. A. Taiwo OCAT, the spokesman for the group on Friday and signed by the group’s convener, Laja Adeoye, the Disciples highlighted Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to inclusiveness, peace, and religious harmony as a defining hallmark of his administration.

“On this auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, we join our Muslim brothers and sisters in celebrating the values of devotion, selflessness, and togetherness that this festival embodies,” the statement read. “Governor Seyi Makinde has consistently demonstrated that leadership is best practiced through equity and unity, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences.”
The group praised the Governor for maintaining a balanced and inclusive approach to governance, which has earned him respect and admiration across religious lines. They noted that under his leadership, Oyo State has become a shining example of how diversity can be a strength rather than a source of division.
“Whether in appointments, project distributions, or policy decisions, His Excellency has always ensured that no segment of the state is left behind,” Alade stated. “This has not only strengthened the social fabric of Oyo State but has also built lasting trust between the government and the governed.”
The Seyi Makinde Disciples encouraged residents of the state to embrace the spirit of Eid by promoting peace, unity, and compassion, urging all communities to continue to support the Governor’s vision for a more prosperous and united Oyo State.
They concluded by praying for the continued health, wisdom, and guidance of Governor Makinde, while also wishing all Muslims a peaceful and joyous celebration.
