In a colorful and culturally rich ceremony, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, was honored with the prestigious Ibadan Ambassador of Culture Award by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII). The event took place on Monday at the Lagelu Local Government Secretariat in Iyana-Offa.
The award was presented by Chief Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, President-General of the CCII, in recognition of Hon. Kamorudeen’s exceptional contributions to the preservation and promotion of Ibadan’s cultural heritage and values.
The ceremony drew the attendance of esteemed personalities and traditional figures, notably the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes’ Most Outstanding Friend of Ibadanland (MOFI), Oloye Benedict Akika, the Agba’Akin Ataiyse Oodua Agbaye. Oloye Akika praised Hon. Kamorudeen for his unwavering commitment to the development of cultural identity in Ibadanland.

“This recognition is not just an honour to an individual, but a celebration of our heritage and the conscious efforts made by leaders like Hon. Kamorudeen to keep our traditions alive,” said Oloye Benedict.
“He has shown what it means to lead with cultural awareness and deep respect for our roots.”
He also commended CCII for continual recognition and encouragement of distinguished sons and daughters of Ibadanland as well as friends of the city who actively contribute to the advancement of its culture, unity, and progress.
The event also featured cultural performances, traditional displays, and tributes to Ibadan’s enduring legacy.
