Honorable Dawood Olalere D-Al-Ameen, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North West State Constituency, has appealed to protesters in the state to embrace peace and shun violence in their demonstrations.
Speaking through Soro Soke Media, D-Al-Ameen emphasized the importance of peaceful protests, saying, “I understand the frustrations and grievances of the people, but I urge them to express their dissent without resorting to violence.”
The chairman, house committee on security, Hon D. A. Olalere commended the protesters for their courage and determination, but cautioned that violence would only lead to chaos and destruction. “Let us work together to build a better Oyo State, not tear it apart,” he said.
The medical laboratory expert also called on the government to listen to the concerns of the people and address their grievances promptly. “The government must be responsive to the needs of the citizens, and we as lawmakers will ensure that their voices are heard,” he assured.
The lawmaker’s plea comes amidst proposed August 1 protests nationwide, which have been largely peaceful. His appeal is seen as a timely intervention to prevent the situation from escalating into violence.
