Ambassador Engr. Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon, Chairman of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) and a prominent progressive politician, has officially declared his unwavering support for Hon. Adewale Haastrup Olatunji Murphy, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.
As a core progressive and a House of Representatives candidate himself for the Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Ambassador Okanlawon understands the critical need for continuity in governance and representation.
In a statement released on Thursday, Okanlawon underscored his conviction that Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy’s victory is crucial to build upon the legacy of the late Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban. “The people of Ibadan North were beneficiaries of sterling and effective representation under the late Hon. Akinremi, a representation that was tragically cut short. To honor his memory and ensure the continued betterment of the good people of Ibadan North, it is imperative that we elect a successor who shares our progressive values and will not allow this uncompleted work to be lost. Hon. Murphy Olatunji is that man,” said Ambassador Okanlawon.
He echoed the sentiments of the Oyo State APC Chairman, Pharmacist Olayide Abas, highlighting that the Ibadan North electorate is sophisticated and deserves a representative who will have a strong voice on the floor of the House of Representatives. Urging voters to resist political antics and choose a candidate who can truly deliver.
David Olusegun Okanlawon, who also serves as the Executive Director of Luli Construction Company, called on all party members, leaders, and constituents to unite behind Hon. Adewale Olatunji. He emphasized that the bye-election is a collective effort and a unique opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the progressive family.
