A member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan South East/North East, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has donated outdoor solar lights to the Oyo State Ministry of Health and Oyo State Library Board (OSLB).
The streetlights were donated to the Board and the Ministry, on Friday, a development which serves as a significant gesture that is aimed at enhancing the functionality of public amenities in Oyo State.
This development underscores the lawmaker’s understanding of the importance of lightning in public facilities, which does not only improve accessibility but also encourage community engagement.
In his reaction, the Chairman of the Oyo State Library Board and the immediate former lawmaker who represented Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency, Hon. Yemi Taiwo, on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Board, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for the donation.
He maintained that the solar lights would enhance safety and security for the library users, especially students and researchers who frequent the library in the evenings.
While saying that the lights would also ensure that the library environment remains conducive for learning and social interactions at nights, he maintained that “the initiative aligns with Agboworin’s commitment to promote education and improving public structures within the state.”
Various stakeholders including Library staff, library users and members of the community, commended the lawmaker for his commitment to enhancing the health and educational environment in Oyo State.
As the state, under the leadership of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, continues to develop its public facilities, this thoughtful contribution serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and engagement in fostering educational growth.
