Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, chieftain of the PDP, has communicated profound greetings to all mothers in Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Mother’s Day, noting that their untold labour cannot be quantified in gold or words.
This was contained in a statement he released today, Sunday, to commemorate the day and appreciate the silent and unsung heroes who daily give of themselves for the growth of their families and the society.
While reflecting on his own upbringing, Bibire made mention of his mother as a woman of great resolve and kindness, who, with honest toil, ensured that her children didn’t lack the values of hard work and service to others.
He also extolled the virtues of his wife, describing her as _“the solid pillar behind our home”_ and _“a mother whose unbending strength, patience and devotion to the growth of our children humbles me every day.”_
Speaking further, he acknowledged the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, for _“her visible motherly role in the state,”_ adding that _“she continues to carry the concerns of women and children with sincere care and attention.”_
Bibire went on to celebrate the many mothers in Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency who, though often unseen, carry their homes on their shoulders and rise daily to support their children’s education, welfare and moral growth.
He noted also that across Oyo State, mothers remain the first teachers and peacemakers, holding the moral compass of communities and setting strong examples for future generations.
He further saluted all mothers across the length and breadth of Nigeria, expressing deep appreciation for their resolve, saying that _“they are the ones who wake first and sleep last, who trade their comfort for the peace of others, and who still wear smiles even when their backs carry more than they should.”_
He urged that the society, must, as a matter of exigency, not only celebrate mothers on a specific day, but every day, while perpetually showing them respect, gratitude and meaningful support in ways that reflect the true weight of their contributions.
He concluded that _“may God reward evey mother in ways the world cannot.”_
