Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM Ibadan has described the ascension of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja FNSE, ARUSA I, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, as a truly historic moment that ushers in an era of new dawn for Ibadan and its people.
Adegoke emphasized the striking symbolism surrounding the monarch’s installation, noting that Oba Ladoja, born in 1944, emerged as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland — a coincidence he described as a divine alignment that marks a special season in the city’s history. The official coronation, conducted by the Oyo State Government on September 26, followed the monarch’s 81st birthday on September 25, making the celebrations even more significant.
The 2027 PDP Gubernatorial Candidate extolled Oba Ladoja’s sterling qualities, describing him as an internationally certified engineer, an accomplished business tycoon, a former Senator, and a former Governor of Oyo State. He further praised him as a political elder statesman, rallying point, father, leader, and a complete circle of wisdom whose presence continues to shape Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape.
As a member of the Coronation Committee, Adegoke highlighted that the week-long coronation ceremonies were graced by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR; the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSc, GSSRS; alongside former and serving governors, senators, federal appointees, and highly revered traditional rulers across Nigeria.
In addition, he commended Governor Makinde for strengthening the traditional council of Oyo State and for the ongoing upgrade of the Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Alakia, Ibadan, which he described as a critical development project set to enhance the state’s economy and global relevance.
Concluding, Oloye Adegoke offered prayers for the monarch: “I pray for Kabiyesi’s reign to be long, peaceful, and prosperous, bringing unity, development, and blessings not only to Ibadanland but to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.”
