A Renowned academic and philanthropist, Prof. Abdurahmon Afonja who is an erstwhile commissioner for public works and transport in Oyo State, laid his father to rest in his hometown, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers.
In a heartfelt tribute signed by Adeleye Blessing Adekunle – Director of Media, Prof. Afonja eulogized his father, describing him as a “pillar of strength, wisdom, and compassion.” He pledged to continue his father’s legacy of kindness and generosity by supporting widows, orphans, and the less privileged every month.
“My father’s passing leaves a void, but his teachings and example will continue to inspire me,” Prof. Afonja said. “I commit to honoring his memory by helping those in need, especially the vulnerable members of our society.”
