AKK is a Gubernatorial Aspirant in Oyo State in 2027.
I have had the privilege of living and working in environments that have, for decades, prioritised the efficacy of technology in almost all sectors of their affairs, even in the least imagined sectors. This exposure has convincingly shown me that a lot can be achieved in our own society, especially Oyo state if we adopt a similar approach and demonstrate seriousness about transformation. The seamless integration of technology into various aspects of life has yielded remarkable results, it has developed sectors and improved lives. It’s imperative we learn from these success stories and deploy the potentials of technology to address our various challenges.
It not strange that technology, basically, is the systematic application of scientific knowledge to practical problems. It’s a tool designed to enhance efficiency, productivity, and progress. Technology works by leveraging algorithms, data, and interconnected systems to address targeted problems. Its potential seems to have no limit, and it’s designed to multi-impact and function. Technology has the capacity to streamline processes, facilitate communication, and provide unparalleled access to information. Its role in our modern societies is vital, and it is no doubt that its continued evolution will shape the future of human civilisation.
The power of technology can be felt in governance, where it can streamline processes, enhance transparency, and encourage accountability. We have examples in nations that have successfully harnessed technology to revolutionise their governance structures. Estonia’s e-government platform, Singapore’s smart nation initiative, and South Korea’s digital governance model all demonstrate how technology can facilitate public services, encourage citizen engagement, and combat corruption. These pioneering efforts showcase the potential of technology in reforming governance and improving the lives of citizens.
The forthcoming AKK House will, among many other things, epitomise technological innovation, offer training and activities that will stimulate creativity and drive progress in Oyo State. This hub will serve as a cite and indeed a sight of technological advancement, it will provide a platform for individuals to develop skills and innovate. I strongly trust that we can unlock the potential of our young population and drive growth in various sectors. The AKK House will certainly demonstrate our commitment to this, and generally show the people the power of technology in changing societies when we actually want it to.
As earlier hinted, one of the initiatives planned for the AKK House is the provision of interest-free loans to support the people of Oyo State from all zones and cultures. We will leverage technology to track progress and ensure repayment, as well achieve financial inclusion and responsibility. This initiative will provide essential support to those in need while promoting accountability and financial discipline. Our goal is to empower individuals, stimulate economic growth, and create a ripple effect of positive change in our various communities in Oyo State.
Frankly, I am usually inspired by advanced nations like Australia and what they are achieving, – we can emulate from many of their tech-supported initiatives and implement here, – for example, a credit score system. We want to do this to enable our people understand the implications of repayment and maintain a good credit history, also to encourage accountability and responsible borrowing. I am almost certain that this system will promote financial literacy, reduce default rates, and create a culture of financial responsibility. When we adopt this proven model, we ensure the long-term sustainability of our loan initiative and allow as many as possible people to benefit.
The success of this initiative relies on collaboration and transparency, and we are counting so much on that. With critical stakeholders involved and a clear plan, we will ensure that our goals are achieved. We do believe that close monitoring and technology-driven tracking will motivate borrowers to repay, and collective commitment will drive positive change. Verily, this approach will address the needs of the good people of Oyo state in various regions, provide support and empowerment to those who are actually in need of it most.
Technology has the potential to be the cornerstone of development, address pressing challenges and drive growth. The AKK House will tap in this potential, and provide a platform for innovation and progress. We want to demonstrate that our people can be proper managers of funds with right guidance, support and plan, and that we can indeed have an Oyo State that is built on the principles of accountability, transparency, and financial responsibility, – and with technology as our tool, we will drive necessary change and improve the lives of our people. We can do that.
