The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has praised the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary celebration.
Accentuating what was described as his immense contributions to the agricultural sector in the state, Olatunji said, Barrister Olaleye’s reappointment as Commissioner for Agriculture under Omituntun 2.0 by Governor Seyi Makinde clearly demonstrates putting a round peg in round hole.
The Oluyole council boss, in a congratulatory statement on Tuesday evening lauded the commissioner for his impactful policies and programs targeted at real smallholder farmers at the grassroots.
Olatunji noted that Barrister Olaleye has successfully changed the status quo from the era of political farmers redirecting what were meant for real time farmers at the grassroots through his strategic approach to policy implementation.
Olatunji equally lauded the commissioner for his innovative approaches that have transformed agricultural practices, improved food security, and boosted the local economy.
Describing the commissioner as a visionary leader at the ministry, Olatunji stated that Barrister Olaleye’s pragmatic approach to problem solving has seen the agriculture sector transitioning from traditional style of farming to leveraging on technology for seamless agriculture that guarantee high yields.
“Your vision and commitment to the transformation of the Agricultural sector have not only revolutionized farming techniques but have also empowered our smallholder farmers with the essential tools and knowledge they need to thrive in this constantly evolving sector.
“Under Barrister Olaleye’s leadership at the Ministry, Oluyole I’d already witnessing strategic partnership and collaborations through the introduction of modern farming technologies and sustainable practices.
“The commissioner’s efforts in promoting agricultural education and access to financing have created a more resilient agricultural system at the grassroots level, and I’m particularly proud to be working closely with his office.
“Together, we can continue to build a sustainable future for our farmers and ensure food security for our community. ” Olatunji said.
The council boss prayed for more courage and dexterity for the commissioner to be able to sustain the momentum he has created in the ministry while expressing his heartfelt wishes.
