October 28 marks the one-year anniversary of Chief Benedict Akika and Wife Chief (Mrs) Bidemi Akika’s appointment as the Mayegun and Yeye Mayegun of Akoboland, a position that has become synonymous with dedicated service and unwavering leadership in the community. Since his installation, Chief Akika has tirelessly worked to uplift Akobo and its surrounding areas, facing numerous challenges with grace and determination.
The founder of Omituntun Benedict Foundation, Chief Benedict Akika, a prominent figure known for his commitment to social welfare and community development, took on the role amid a backdrop of economic and social trials. From the onset, he prioritized initiatives aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, and infrastructure within the region.
