Land grabbing remains a significant issue in Nigeria, threatening the rights of property owners and hindering community development. In Oyo State, under the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State has witnessed significant strides in combating land grabbing. Mr. Akin-Funmilayo Williams, Honorable Commissioner for Lands, Housing, Survey, and Urban Development, has emerged as a leading figure in this fight.
the pacesetter state under the distinguished overall leadership of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE through the Honorable Commissioner, Mr. Akin-Funmilayo Williams has emerged as a leading figure, an Ambassador in the fight against this menace, using his influence to advocate for justice, reclaim land for rightful owners, and work against illegal land seizures.
For this course, many a issues on the land grabbing, dispute from community and their heads including traditional rulers are engaged in the embattled land dispute leading to series of court cases.
However, with the efforts of Mr. Williams’ alignment to the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde’s proactive approach in Oyo State, it has gotten better than before. Governor Makinde’s administration has implemented policies and initiatives to protect land rights, promote transparency, and reduce land disputes. His leadership has earned praise for fostering collaboration and supporting community leaders with the intervention of Mr. Williams in addressing these challenges through the ministry of Lands Housing Survey and Urban Development.
Meanwhile, having the peoples Governor at the helm of affairs in ensuring zero tolerance to land dispute from land Grabbers, Mr Akin-Funmilayo efforts has not only helped curb the activities of land grabbers but also inspired greater confidence among citizens and investors in the state.
