The Oyo State Executive Committee (Exco) of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), alongside the party’s Local Government Chairmen, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership and commitment following the successful rescue and safe release of pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area.

In a statement jointly issued on behalf of the party leadership, the APM described the rescue as a major relief for the victims’ families and the entire people of Oyo State, while praising the gallantry, professionalism, and resilience of the nation’s security agencies throughout the operation.

The party noted that the successful rescue underscores the importance of sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders in tackling security challenges across the state.

“We congratulate the Government and the good people of Oyo State on the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers,” the statement read.

“We commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. We also appreciate the gallant efforts of our security agencies, whose professionalism and resilience made the successful rescue possible.”

The APM leadership further acknowledged the support of the Federal Government under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture have contributed significantly to the fight against insecurity nationwide.

While celebrating the successful operation, the party urged both the Federal and Oyo State Governments to intensify proactive security measures by strengthening intelligence gathering, expanding community policing initiatives, and providing improved logistical support for security personnel to forestall similar incidents.

The statement also applauded Governor Makinde for ensuring continued support for the rescued victims after their release, including efforts to facilitate appropriate medical attention, psychological care, and other relief interventions in collaboration with the Federal Government and the Nigerian Army to aid their recovery from the traumatic experience.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace and development, the Oyo State APM Executive Committee pledged its continued support for all genuine initiatives aimed at promoting security, protecting lives, and fostering sustainable development across Oyo State and Nigeria.

The statement was signed by the Oyo State APM Executive Committee (Exco) on behalf of the State Executive Committee and all Local Government Party Chairmen.
