Oriire Abduction: Hon. Animoje Applauds Governor Seyi Makinde, Security Agencies, Oriire Stakeholders Over Safe Rescue of Pupils, Teachers

Hon. Animoje Aremu Folorunsho has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, security agencies, and the people of Oriire Local Government for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted from communities in the council area after weeks in captivity.

Describing the rescue as a major breakthrough, Hon. Animoje said the safe return of the victims has brought immense relief to the affected families and renewed hope among residents across Oriire Local Government.

According to him, the successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Governor Makinde’s administration to the protection of lives and property in Oyo State.

“Throughout this difficult period, Governor Makinde remained steadfast and consistently assured residents that every necessary effort would be made to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers. Today, that commitment has yielded positive results,” he said.

Hon. Animoje praised the governor for providing the necessary support, coordination, and leadership that enabled security operatives to sustain rescue efforts until the victims were safely released. He noted that the successful operation underscored the importance of determined leadership, effective intelligence gathering, and strategic collaboration in tackling security challenges.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, intelligence agencies, local security outfits, and community vigilante groups for their professionalism, courage, and sacrifices, which contributed significantly to the successful rescue operation.

The Oriire stakeholder further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Executive Chairman of Oriire Local Government, Hon. Olateju Michael Alabi, and the Member representing Oriire State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogundele Johnson Akintola, for their unwavering support, commitment, and continuous engagement with relevant stakeholders throughout the rescue efforts.

He equally appreciated traditional rulers, community leaders, religious organizations, youth groups, market associations, local vigilante operatives, the media, and all well-meaning individuals who stood by the affected families during the trying period. He noted that their prayers, advocacy, resilience, cooperation, and encouragement played a vital role in sustaining hope until the victims regained their freedom.

Hon. Animoje said the rescue has brought immense joy and relief to the victims, their families, and loved ones, while restoring public confidence in the ability of government and security institutions to respond effectively to threats against innocent citizens.

While celebrating the successful outcome, he urged residents of Oriire Local Government and Oyo State as a whole to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent criminal activities.

“Security is a collective responsibility. Government, security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and citizens must continue working together to keep our communities safe,” he stated.

He also prayed for the rescued pupils and teachers, wishing them speedy physical, emotional, and psychological recovery. According to him, attention should now shift to their rehabilitation, healing, and ensuring that they can safely return to their education without fear.
