The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) Candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ambassador Olufemi Ogundoyin Ajadi, has intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections with a strategic visit to the Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), a socio-political movement founded by renowned philanthropist and community leader, Oloye Benedict Akika, JP, the Agbaakin of Olorunda-Abaa and Mayegun of Akoboland.
The visit, which attracted members of the forum from across the local government areas of Oyo State, focused on strengthening unity, collaboration, and grassroots mobilization towards securing victory for the Allied Peoples’ Movement and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Welcoming the APM delegation, Oloye Benedict Akika highlighted the vision and activities of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation, a non-governmental organisation committed to humanitarian services, empowerment programmes, and community development.
He explained that the Foundation operates through its socio-political platform, the Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), which comprises several specialized groups including OBF Ladies, OBF Youth, OBF Widows, OBF Teachers, OBF Shoemakers, OBF Okada Riders, as well as ethnic support groups such as Igede and Igala communities, among others.
According to him, the forum has continued to organize empowerment initiatives, humanitarian interventions, solidarity and endorsement visits, and other developmental programmes in line with the people-oriented leadership philosophy of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Chief Akika also noted that beyond his humanitarian engagements, he serves as the Grand Life Patron of the Hairdressers Association in Oyo State and Patron of the Diesel Injection Pump and Nozzles Association of Oyo State.
Speaking during the meeting, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi appealed to members of the forum to support his senatorial ambition and the entire APM family, describing the election as a collective responsibility to sustain good governance and accelerated development in Oyo State.
Ajadi commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the developmental strides recorded across the state, particularly in infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and governance, stressing that the achievements should be sustained through the emergence of credible leaders.
He urged members of OBF to mobilize support across all wards and polling units, encouraging them to spread the message of hope represented by his candidacy.
“I have come as your son and younger brother to seek your support and prayers. Together, we can ensure that Oyo State continues on the path of development. Let us unite and work together for victory,” he said.
The senatorial hopeful also promised to commence empowerment programmes before the election, assuring members that beneficiaries would emerge through the Omituntun Benedict Foundation to ensure fairness and inclusiveness.
He further distributed campaign materials to members, urging them to educate residents about the ideals and programmes of the Allied Peoples’ Movement across their respective communities.
Ajadi expressed confidence that with God’s support and the backing of the people, APM would record significant victories in the 2027 elections.
The meeting also featured prayers for the success of the party and its candidates, with participants pledging to intensify grassroots mobilization across Oyo State.
The gathering reaffirmed support for the Allied Peoples’ Movement’s candidates seeking elective offices, including those contesting for the Presidency, Senate, House of Representatives, Oyo State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmanship, and Councillorship positions.
