The Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), a prominent sociopolitical movement founded by Oloye Benedict Akika JP, has applauded the massive turnout and growing public support recorded at the recent PDP-APM Unity Mega Rally in Ibadan, describing it as a clear signal that Nigerians are yearning for fresh, visionary, and people-oriented leadership.

The group said the rally, which attracted party loyalists, youths, women groups, political stakeholders, and supporters from different parts of Oyo State and beyond, demonstrated the rising acceptance of Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership style and national appeal.

OBF noted that the atmosphere at the historic Mapo Hall rally reflected unity, renewed hope, and confidence in the possibility of a better Nigeria under a new generation of leaders committed to good governance, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.

According to the forum, Governor Seyi Makinde has continued to distinguish himself through impactful governance, infrastructural development, economic reforms, and his ability to maintain political stability in Oyo State, making him a strong national figure capable of leading Nigeria toward progress and prosperity.

The group specifically commended the declaration and growing calls for President Seyi Makinde under the platform of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), describing the movement as a reflection of the people’s desire for competent and credible leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, OBF leadership stated that Nigerians are tired of recycled politics and divisive leadership, stressing that the country needs a fresh direction anchored on accountability, youth empowerment, economic revival, and national unity.

“The overwhelming support witnessed at the PDP-APM Unity Mega Rally is a strong indication that Nigerians are ready for a new political era. Governor Seyi Makinde has shown capacity, courage, and compassion in governance. The people are naturally identifying with his vision for a better Nigeria,” the statement read.

The forum further praised the collaboration between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), describing the alliance as a strategic step toward strengthening democratic participation and building a formidable progressive coalition.

OBF reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising grassroots support across Oyo State and beyond in support of initiatives aimed at promoting good governance, responsible leadership, and national development.

The group also urged Nigerians, particularly youths and women, to remain actively involved in the democratic process and support leaders with proven integrity, competence, and genuine passion for national transformation.

The Unity Mega Rally has continued to generate political discussions across the state, with many observers describing it as one of the largest political gatherings in recent times and a possible turning point ahead of the next electoral cycle.
