In a renewed display of grassroots leadership and people-centered governance, the Leader of the Ibadan NorthWest Legislative House, Hon. Oluwagbemileke Nelson Gbadamosi, popularly known as Oleke, on Wednesday led political functionaries in Ward 9 to empower more than 40 constituents through cash support initiatives.
The empowerment programme, held in Ward 9 of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, featured contributions from key government appointees and party leaders committed to improving the welfare of residents.
Hon. O’leke Gbadamosi personally empowered 20 constituents, while Hon. Rale Opeyemi Olumuyiwa, Supervisory Councillor for Health, supported 12 beneficiaries.
Also contributing to the exercise, Hon. Jumoke Adetoro, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, empowered five constituents, while Hon. Sola Olugbemi, popularly known as Arokoto and Supervisory Councillor B, extended support to 10 beneficiaries.
The political functionaries explained that the cash empowerment was designed to assist residents in sustaining their livelihoods and to complement the people-oriented agenda of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Hon. Rahman Adepoju.
They also expressed appreciation to the people of Ward 9 for their continued support, loyalty, and trust in the current administration.
Beneficiaries at the event lauded the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful amid prevailing economic challenges.
Community stakeholders who attended the programme commended Hon. O’leke Gbadamosi and the other political functionaries for their consistency in giving back to the people.
They noted that the initiative was not the first of its kind, adding that the leaders had repeatedly demonstrated commitment to the welfare and development of Ward 9 residents.
