Governorship hopeful, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has declared that politics should be seen as a platform for sacrifice and service rather than personal enrichment, as he outlined his vision for the future of Oyo State.
Speaking on what he described as his lifelong journey of service, Kareem said his decision to seek the governorship seat is rooted in years of investment in education, agriculture, youth empowerment, and humanitarian support across the state and beyond.
According to him, he has contributed to national and state development through the establishment of institutions such as Boiling Point International Schools and Attaofeequ Billahi International School, as well as AB Farm and other ventures aimed at promoting food security, job creation, and economic growth.
He noted that his philanthropic efforts have remained consistent over the years, stressing that they were never designed as political tools but as part of a personal commitment to helping others.
“I have supported schools, awarded scholarships, and assisted institutions and individuals in need, not for publicity, but because I believe in lifting others up,” he said.
Kareem added that his experiences in service have strengthened his resolve to pursue people-oriented leadership focused on improving the lives of ordinary citizens, particularly youths, the elderly, and hardworking residents seeking better opportunities.
The governorship aspirant also referenced the recognition he received from the League of Imams and Alfas in Oyo State, which conferred on him the chieftaincy title of Fakhar Soliheen of Oyo State meaning The Pride of the Righteous of Oyo State.
He described the honour as more than a title, saying it represents a moral responsibility to uphold values such as integrity, fairness, and righteousness in public service.
Kareem said his aspiration to govern Oyo State is guided by a vision of transparent, inclusive, and innovation-driven leadership.
He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritize listening to the people, uniting diverse interests, and delivering sustainable development across the state.
