Christian faithfuls have been urged to desist from acts of religious decadence and instead embrace selfless activities that promote peaceful coexistence within society.

This admonition was contained in the Easter message of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, to residents of the council area.

According to the Chairman, the forty days and nights of fasting and prayers observed during the Lenten period should not pass without making a meaningful impact on the lives of Christian faithfuls. He emphasized the need for adherents to reflect the teachings of  the Lord Jesus Christ in their daily lives, especially in their interactions with others.
He further stressed that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolize sacrifice, love, and redemption, noting that these virtues must be evident in the conduct and character of individuals.

Alhaji Adepoju congratulated Christians on the uncommon grace to witness this year’s Easter celebration and prayed to God to grant their heart desires. He also urged that the celebration should go beyond feasting with family and friends, encouraging well-meaning individuals to extend love and support to the less privileged in society.

The Chairman further advised residents to remain self-disciplined and law-abiding during and after the festive period.

He wishes all Christian faithfuls a peaceful and prosperous Easter celebration.
