The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has been commended for what stakeholders describe as an impressive performance within his first 100 days in office.
A former two-term chairman of the council, Olugbenga Opadotun, gave the commendation in a congratulatory message, applauding the leadership style of the chairman and members of his executive.
Opadotun noted that the administration has demonstrated notable energy, zeal and passion since assuming office, adding that its efforts have attracted positive reactions from members and observers.
He particularly highlighted the training programmes organised for journalists in the state, stating that such initiatives would enhance professionalism and enable members to discharge their duties more efficiently.
The former chairman also praised the welfare programmes introduced by the leadership, noting that they are already helping to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges on members.
He further commended the ongoing infrastructural facelift at the NUJ Press Centre in Ibadan, describing it as a step in the right direction toward improving the working environment for journalists.
Opadotun expressed appreciation for the achievements recorded so far and urged the leadership to sustain the tempo in order to maintain the council’s leading position among NUJ councils nationwide.
