The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja has shared palliatives including foodstuffs and other items worth millions of nair among over 5,000 Christian and Muslim faithful in Ibadanland on Saturday.
Olori Rashidat Ladoja while overseeing the distribution of the palliatives to the beneficiaries at his Bodija residence on behalf of Olubadan explained that the motive behind the gesture was to give back to the society.
“Baba Ladoja has been doing this for the past 20 years, but this is the first time we are doing this since Oba Ladoja ascended the throne as the Olubadan of Ibadanland. So, it’s not different from what we have been doing before. It’s only that the beneficiaries are plenty this year.
“Last year, we distributed to about 5,000 people. This year, they are more than 5,000. We thank God that we are doing well, there are no casualties, there are no fights.
“Oba Ladoja is just a man who prioritises the welfare of his people as a Senator, former governor, and now as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“During this period, the Ramadan and Lent period, I think it’s in the Quran and the Bible to give. So, we are giving, and I believe many Nigerians are giving as well.“
