The Eleruwa of Eruwaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I, has celebrated the first anniversary of his installation and presentation of the Staff of Office as the 17th Eleruwa of Eruwa, expressing gratitude to God and appreciation to the people of the town for their support over the past year.

Speaking on the milestone, the monarch described the last twelve months as a period marked by responsibility, reconciliation and efforts aimed at strengthening unity and development across Eruwaland.

Oba Adegbola noted that his ascension to the revered throne of his forefathers on March 6, 2025 came with a deep sense of duty and a commitment to uphold the customs, traditions and values associated with the Eleruwa stool.

Activities marking the anniversary also provided an opportunity for the palace to highlight the cultural importance of the traditional institution and its role in promoting peace and progress in the community.

During the commemoration, the Director of Media and Public Communications to the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Sunday Adedokun, interacted with journalists on Friday, noting that the anniversary is both a celebration and a moment to reflect on the journey of the last one year.

According to him, the palace remains committed to projecting the cultural identity of Eruwaland while strengthening unity among the people.

The monarch expressed appreciation to the high chiefs, kingmakers, elders, youths, women groups, religious leaders and indigenes of Eruwa both at home and in the diaspora for their continued support in sustaining the dignity and stability of the traditional institution.

Oba Adegbola also commended the Oyo State Government, particularly the Executive Governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his support and responsiveness to the needs of the community.

He noted that within the past one year, the governor has shown commitment to the development of Eruwa, especially through prompt attention to requests presented to him during the coronation activities.

The royal father therefore urged the people of Eruwa to appreciate the governor for his continued support and interest in the growth and development of the town.

Addressing the issue of security, the Eleruwa advised residents of the community to remain vigilant and conscious of their environment.

He specifically cautioned against unnecessary late-night movements, noting that the safety of the town requires the cooperation and responsibility of every resident.

Reaffirming his dedication to the people, the monarch pledged to continue serving Eruwaland with humility, fairness and a fatherly sense of responsibility.

He added that the palace will continue to support initiatives that promote peace, preserve cultural values and encourage social and economic development within the community.

The Eleruwa also called on sons and daughters of Eruwa to remain united and committed to the collective progress of their homeland.

He concluded by praying for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Eruwaland, the Ibarapa region and Oyo State as a whole.
