A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and aspirant for Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency, Hon. Bankole Fasuyi, popularly known as Hon Banky, has thrown his weight behind Governor Seyi Makinde’s inclusive educational agenda through a large-scale distribution of exercise books to public schools in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The initiative, tagged Hon Banky Educational Support Foundation, commenced its first phase on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Community High School Adamsingba. The exercise saw thousands of exercise books produced and distributed them alongside educational materials to students across selected schools, with the aim of easing the burden on parents and enhancing learning conditions for pupils.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Fasuyi reiterated his commitment to supporting policies and programmes that promote access to quality education for every child, in line with the inclusive vision of Governor Makinde’s administration. He noted that education remains a vital tool for societal transformation and sustainable development.
“Our goal is to complement government efforts by ensuring that no child is left behind due to lack of basic learning materials. This initiative is a reflection of our belief in the power of education as the foundation for a better future,” Fasuyi said.
Hon Banky, alongside members of his team, visited several schools within Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, interacting with students, teachers, and school administrators. He assured them that the distribution exercise would be sustained and expanded to reach more schools in subsequent phases.
Other highlight of the event is the opening of the school library with the presence of Oyo State Ministry of Education among other special guests and invited schools.
School authorities and beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, especially amid economic challenges facing many households. They commended Hon. Fasuyi for demonstrating genuine concern for the educational welfare of children in the constituency.
The Hon Banky Educational Support Foundation, according to organisers, is designed to continually support students through the provision of learning materials, scholarships, and other educational interventions that align with the state government’s inclusive educational scheme.
