The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation has successfully concluded its 7th Annual Sports Competition, an event that continues to serve as a beacon for youth development and community building across Ibarapa land.
This year’s edition showcased an engaging mix of modern athletics and cultural mind sports, including draughts and Ayo Olópón, creating a comprehensive platform that nurtures both physical prowess and mental sharpness among young participants. The competition underscored values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy rivalry while providing emerging talents an opportunity to shine.
The marathon races delivered remarkable results across both categories. Ayorinde Timothy dominated the men’s race, crossing the finish line in 1 hour 36 minutes. He was followed by Ayorinde John, who completed the course in 1 hour 39 minutes, with Azeez Abbas securing third position at 1 hour 42 minutes.
In the women’s division, Adepoju Ruth claimed top honors with an impressive 2 hours 02 minutes. The battle for second and third places saw Makinde finish at 2 hours 06 minutes 08 seconds and 2 hours 06 minutes 51 seconds respectively.
The football competition provided its share of excitement as FC AMBASSADOR emerged victorious after a hard-fought final against UNIQUE FC. SUPER STAR FC completed the podium finish as second runner-up.
Winners across all events received cash prizes, trophies, medals, and additional support incentives, with the Foundation emphasizing that these rewards recognize excellence while motivating continued engagement in sports and personal growth.
