At the 2025 Agribusiness Summit, Dr. Debo Akande, Director-General of OYSADA and Executive Adviser to the Governor on International Cooperation and Development (DBA, CMGR, FCMI) delivered a compelling tribute to Governor Seyi Makinde FNSE, Dsc, GSSRS, describing him as “a man whose work announced itself long before any recognition.”
Dr. Akande highlighted that under Governor Makinde’s leadership, Oyo State has become a model for Agricultural innovation, food security planning, and private-sector–driven Agribusiness development. He noted that the governor’s unwavering commitment to accountability, transparency, and strategic investment has transformed the state’s Agribusiness landscape and strengthened its position as a national leader in food production and rural development.
He emphasised landmark initiatives such as the development of Agribusiness industrial hubs, the expansion of farmer support programmes, and improved market linkages that have opened new opportunities for youth, investors, and processors. According to him, these achievements reflect Makinde’s visionary leadership and his deep understanding that sustainable economic growth must be built on a strong Agricultural foundation.
Dr. Akande also stated that the 2025 Summit stands as proof of Oyo State’s rising influence in regional food systems, attracting experts, investors, and innovators from across Africa. He reiterated that Governor Makinde’s style of governance continues to inspire confidence among development partners and reinforces the state’s commitment to food safety, Agricultural modernization, and inclusive growth.
He concluded by affirming that the governor’s legacy in Agribusiness development will remain a reference point for years to come.
