It was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and celebration of a well-spent life as family, friends, and associates marked the 5th-year remembrance of the late Madam Fatimo Grace Akika, a virtuous woman and beloved mother of Chief Benedict Akika, the Agba’Akin Ataiyse Oodua Agbaye and President of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation.

Fondly remembered as a woman of substance, faith, and compassion, Madam Fatimo Grace Akika left behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and selfless service to humanity. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering devotion to her family continue to inspire all who knew her.

In his heartfelt tribute to 9ja News 24/7, Chief Benedict Akika alongside his siblings Simon and Thomas Akika described his late mother as “a rare gem whose love, sacrifices, and prayers laid the foundation for everything I have become today.” He further noted that her virtues remain a guiding light for the entire Akika family, as well as the communities she touched during her lifetime.

The remembrance event also served as an opportunity for family, friends and members of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation and well-wishers across Nigeria and the diaspora to honor Madam Fatimo’s enduring memory. Prayers at Akika’s residence and graveside of the Late Mama were offered for the peaceful repose of her soul, while attendees reaffirmed their commitment to upholding her values of love, generosity, and service to humanity.

As the Akika family continues to build on the solid moral and spiritual foundation she left behind, Madam Fatimo Grace Akika is celebrated not just as a mother, but as a matriarch whose legacy lives on in the lives of many.

May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
