Executive Chairman Reaffirms Support for Community Development Initiatives

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the present administration under His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, to supporting the Community Development Councils (CDCs) for the overall growth and development of communities at the grassroots level.

The Chairman made this declaration during the 1st Year Community Day Celebration of Ibadan Northwest Community Development Council (CDC) held at the Council Secretariat, Onireke,Ibadan

Alhaji Adepoju noted that the essence of establishing CDCs was to foster grassroots development and improve community welfare through direct involvement of residents. He commended the Ibadan Northwest CDC for its commitment to community upliftment and praised the visionary initiatives already embarked upon by the association.
He expressed delight at the CDC’s proposed “Garri Processing Project” describing it as a practical solution to food insecurity and a boost to local economic activities.

In support of the project, the Executive Chairman onbehalf of his working cabinet pledged to allocate acres of farmland and provide substantial financial and logistical support through the council’s agricultural development schemes.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, the Chairman listed key projects already executed to alleviate the suffering of the people. These include;Construction and equipping of healthcare facilities,Drilling of motorised boreholes across wards, Rehabilitation of dilapidated roads, Dredging of water channels to prevent flooding among others

The Council Boss emphasized that more interventions are underway and assured the CDC of continued partnership to ensure the full execution of their developmental goals.

In his goodwill message, the State House of Assembly Member representing Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Hon. Dawood Olalere commended the CDC Executives and members for their outstanding initiative. He emphasized that the “Garri Processing Project’ would go a long way in reducing hunger and empowering local farmers.

Hon. Olalere urged residents of the local government and Oyo State in general to protect and maintain public infrastructures provided by the government, stressing the importance of communal responsibility in sustainable development.

Earlier in his welcome address, Ibadan North West CDC chairman Elder J.k Dunmoye eulogised the Council Chairman,the state Honorable and the present administration as a whole under the leadership of His Excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for their relentless efforts in extending dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state. Elder Dunmoye on behalf of all CDC members in Ibadan North West pledged their loyalty to the present administration in making its visions come to reality.

The event was well attended by political functionaries, community leaders, stakeholders, market women leaders, government officials and members of the public, all of whom lauded the CDC for its grassroots-driven development efforts.
