Following the recently concluded Ward Congress in Ibadan North East Ward 6, PDP Members in the Ward have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the conduct and insubordination of HON. OLUGBENGA ADEWUSI (Arole).
It is on record that HON. AROLE has continuously disturbed the peace of the ward and attempted to truncate the emergence of the newly elected Chairman, Mr. SULAIMON RABIU, who enjoys overwhelming acceptance and the full backing of the ward owing to his leadership capacity and crowd-pulling influence.
Members recall that Hon. AROLE left the PDP for the ADC during the emergence of our leader, His Excellency, Governor OLUSEYI MAKINDE and only returned when Mr. SULAIMON RABIU successfully delivered Ward 6, Ibadan North East, to the Governor. At that time, *Mr. RABIU*, who was then the Ward Chairman, graciously stepped aside and was returned as Vice Chairman to accommodate Arole’s camp, with their candidate occupying the Chairmanship and other key positions.
After serving two full terms as Chairman, Arole’s camp has refused to be content. Instead, they are now attempting to smuggle in another candidate through the backdoor—motivated by Hon. Arole’s failed bid for federal representation.
We also have credible evidence of HON. AROLE’S anti-party activities, including constant hobnobbing with APC representatives and relocating many PDP meetings to ILAJI FARM. These actions clearly demonstrate that he is not fully with the party, but rather working to weaken the ward, demoralize loyal members, and eventually defect in pursuit of his personal ambition.
In furtherance of this agenda, Arole’s camp has resurfaced an old video of Mr. SULAIMON RABIU during his brief time with the Accord Party. This is nothing but a desperate attempt to discredit him and impose their own candidate, despite the fact that their camp has already enjoyed two consecutive terms in the Chairmanship.
For the record, Mr. SULAIMON RABIU is fully qualified to serve as Ward Chairman, having held the position of Vice Chairman for eight years and having played a vital role in the emergence and continuous success of our leader, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde.
We therefore urge the general public and party faithful to disregard the recently circulated video, as it is merely a ploy by Hon. Arole’s camp to pocket the ward and pursue their hidden agenda.
Enough is enough.
Ward 6 PDP stand united behind Mr. Sulaimon Rabiu as the legitimate and rightful Ward Chairman. Any suspension being peddled by their camp is null, void and dead on arrival.
