RE: PRIMATE AYODELE’S COMMENT ON GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE
Our attention has been drawn to an unfortunate and misleading remark on the social media credited to Primate Elijah Ayodele, alleging that Governor Seyi Makinde is “1% in PDP and 80% in APC,” and that the Governor “has nothing more to offer.”
While I acknowledge Primate Ayodele’s right to freedom of expression, we must caution against careless utterances that misinform the public and undermine the credibility of hard-working leader.
Governor Seyi Makinde is a proud and loyal member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a fact that has never been in doubt. His actions and policies since assuming office reflect deep commitment to democratic ideals, good governance, and the overall development of Oyo State and Nigeria in general. He remains one of the most competent and visionary leaders Nigeria has today—known for transparency, infrastructural strides, and inclusive leadership.
Rather than criticize from the pulpit, we urge religious leaders to use their platforms to promote unity and truth, not partisan assumptions dressed in prophecy.
It is also important to remind Primate Ayodele that Nigerians are yet to see any tangible impact of his constant political predictions beyond controversy. Leadership is not built on visions and declarations—it is built on performance, service, and integrity. Governor Makinde stands tall on all these fronts.
I encourage the people of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to disregard such statements and continue to support a Governor who has demonstrated results, not rhetoric.
